We appreciate you taking the time to star on this weeks “Interview of the week” section on TejanoFM.com. Where fans get to read about the thoughts and experiences of new tejano artist and the legends of the industry. A place where fans can learn a bit of biography on their favorite artist and get some entertaining insides on their careers. Here’s a series of fun and informative questions we have just for you!

  ► How long have you been in the tejano music industry?

   ► I started singing at the age of 5 when I performed my first song “Como La Flor” by Selena at a local pageant. Since then I have been participating in fiestas, contests, and other singing events all over south Texas.

  ► Is it hard being a young Tejano artist?

   ► Yes. I think it is hard because there are already so many great performers in the Tejano Music Industry. But, I do think that being young has its advantages because you can learn alot from some of these great Tejano artists while adding your own style to the music.

  ► When you first started off what was the hardest thing to accomplish??

   ► Establishing a name among many great tejano bands at the time.

  ► You just released the album “Estoy Contigo”. What can you tell us about it?

   ► This is my first album. It has ten songs consisting of cumbias and rancheras. There are some original songs and then there are some classics that I felt were important to bring back. I am really excited to be performing songs written by Mr. Abraham Quintanilla and A.B. Quintanilla. In fact, the title song of my album, “Estoy Contigo” was written by Mr. Abraham Quintanilla. Everyone at Q-Productions really helped me so much throughout the entire recording process and I would like to send a big THANK YOU to everyone there!

  ► You won the contest for “La Doble De Selena”. What was going on in your mind when you accepted this award?

   ► “OH MY GOSH!!!” That was one of the most incredible nights of my life. To even be considered as a contestant in the contest was a huge honor and to actually win this title was a dream come true. I am very grateful for the title of La Doble De Selena because Selena inspired me to pursue my dream of becoming a tejano singer. I would like to make it known that I believe there will never be another Selena. She was a truly unique and talented person. Selena will always be the Queen of Tejano Music.

  ► Do you still get star struck and if so who makes you feel star struck?

   ► Of course! Just last year I had the opportunity to appear at the Tejano Music Awards. As I was waiting to go on the stage, I was surrounded by Tejano greats like Raulito Navaira, Pete Astudillo, David Lee Garza, Shelly Lares, Stefani Montiel, and Elida Reyna. I was really in shock to be around so many talented people!!! I also met Bobby Pulido on the show “Escandalo TV,” I was speechless!

  ► What do you foresee in our industry and how will you and your band be part of it?

   ► I believe that Tejano Music has always been a very important part of our culture and I foresee that it will continue to play a strong role in our culture for generations to come. I hope that my band and I can contribute to making this happen.

  ► What’s something fun you like to do in your off time?

   ► Shopping!!! Im sure a lot of girls agree with me when I say you can never have too many shoes!

  ► What would you do if you had won a million dollars?

   ► First, I would help my family out with anything they needed because they have sacrificed so much to get me to where I am today. I would like to say Thank You to them for always supporting me and never giving up on my dreams. Next, I would invest the money in my singing career to continue my dream. Finally, I would definitely splurge when I’d go shopping!!!
